There is a better way to make and deliver education policy
Improving Education Policy Together, is a collaboration between Gareth Conyard and Nansi Ellis.
Too often education policy-making feels confused, counter-productive, and fails to achieve its outcomes. Using their experience of working inside and outside Government, Nansi and Gareth consider ways to create better policy-making processes for the education sector.
Their work shows that policy-making should be collaborative, iterative, and think long-term, and in their book, Improving Education Policy Together, we explore how to make these ideas a reality.
“Cooperative, iterative, and long-term: that’s what the authors of this fascinating book would like to see much more of in the world of education policymaking, and so say all of us! It is absolutely no surprise that my ex-colleague Gareth - along with Nansi - have written something so thoughtful, engaging and practical.”
Jonathan Slater, Former Permanent Secretary at the Department for Education, UK.
Hear Nansi and Gareth talk about the book
“We were delighted to be interviewed by Tom Richmond on the EDSK podcast. We talk about the key themes of the book, why politicians and institutions act the way they do, and whether we are optimistic for the future!”
“You can also hear us talk about the book to James Bowen of the NAHT on their School Leadership podcast. Find out more about the policy making process and who our favourite Secretary of State is!”
